Warbeast System

💡 What Are Warbeasts?

Warbeasts are powerful mechanical creatures that represent endgame progression in Last Fortress: Underground. Each warbeast features unique visual designs, extensive upgrade paths including stars, remodeling, and surpass nodes, plus an impressive collection of coatings with stat bonuses. With 6 distinct warbeasts ranging from legendary dragons to mythic pandas, this system offers some of the highest stat ceilings in the game!

⚙️ Core Progression Systems

⚠️ Long-Term Investment

Warbeasts are designed as a very long-term progression system. Fully maxing a single warbeast requires months of dedicated resource farming. Plan your investments wisely!

1️⃣ Base Leveling (Levels 1-20)

Each warbeast has a 20-level progression track. Think of this as the foundation - every warbeast must complete this journey first!

📊 How Leveling Works

  • Progression Items: Each warbeast uses specific items (e.g., Dragon Fragments, Hunter Cores)
  • Cumulative Effects: Level 10 grants ALL bonuses from levels 1-10, not just level 10
  • Power Scaling: Each level adds 1,000 power (Level 20 = 20,000 total base power)
  • Stat Diversity: Different levels unlock different stat types (HP, Attack, Defense, Critical, etc.)

Example: Metallic Dragon Level Progression

LevelCost (Items)New EffectPower Gain
1100+2% Accuracy+1,000
5300+3% Defense+1,000
10750+5% HP+1,000
151,200+4% Critical+1,000
201,850+10% Attack+1,000

💡 Pro Tip: Costs are relatively low for levels 1-10, then spike significantly. Save resources for the final push to level 20!

2️⃣ Star & Surpass System (0-30 Stars, 5 Surpass Nodes)

The Star System is the largest source of power gains in the warbeast system. As you upgrade stars (0 → 30), you unlock Surpass Nodes at specific milestones - major power spikes that dramatically boost combat effectiveness!

⭐ How It Works

Star Progression: Upgrading stars increases base power (0 → 140,000 total)

Surpass Nodes: Automatically unlock at ★6, ★12, ★18, ★24, and ★30 - providing massive stat multipliers!

Star RangeMaterial CostPower GainedSurpass Node Unlocks
0-10 Stars65,000 total0 → 30,000★6: Node 1 (First major boost)
11-20 Stars185,000 total30,000 → 80,000★12: Node 2 | ★18: Node 3
21-30 Stars485,000 total80,000 → 140,000★24: Node 4 | ★30: Node 5 (Max!)

💰 Resource Investment

Total Cost to Max (★30): 735,000 Star Upgrade Materials (Item #703134)

  • Early Game (0-10): 65,000 materials - Cheapest per-power gain!
  • Mid Game (11-20): 185,000 materials - Moderate investment
  • Late Game (21-30): 485,000 materials - Costs spike dramatically!

⚠️ Important: Each Warbeast Has DIFFERENT Stats!

Not all warbeasts are equal! While costs and power scaling are the same (735K materials, 0 → 140K power), the specific stat bonuses vary by warbeast.

Example at ★6 (Surpass Node 1):

  • Metallic Dragon: Mastery Effect +5%
  • Mega Gorilla: Mastery Effect +8% (Better!)
  • Skyripper: Different stat entirely (trade-off mechanic)

💡 This means: Some warbeasts naturally excel in certain stats. Check in-game to see your specific warbeast's progression!

📊 Star Level Stat Progression (Example: Metallic Dragon #101)

What You Gain Per Star: Each star level grants specific stat bonuses that stack cumulatively. Below shows Metallic Dragon's progression (other warbeasts follow similar patterns but with different stat values):

⚡ Key Insight: Stats are cumulative! At ★30, you have ALL the bonuses from ★1-29 PLUS the ★30 bonus. This is why late-game warbeasts are so powerful!

3️⃣ Remodel/Awakening (36 Stages)

The Remodel system is a long-term endgame grind with 36 stages spanning levels 6-108. Each stage provides cumulative multipliers to your warbeast's stats.

🔄 How Remodeling Works

  • 36 Sequential Stages: Must complete in order (can't skip)
  • Multiplicative Bonuses: Each stage adds 2-5% to ALL base stats
  • Cumulative Power: Stage 36 = sum of all previous 35 stages!
  • Dragon Coin Sink: Primary currency required (very expensive at higher stages)
Stage RangeLevel RangeTypical Bonus Per StageTotal by End
Stages 1-12Levels 6-30+2% per stage~+24% cumulative
Stages 13-24Levels 36-66+3% per stage~+60% cumulative
Stages 25-36Levels 72-108+4-5% per stage~+120% cumulative

⚠️ Remodel Reality Check

Completing all 36 stages can take 6-12 months of dedicated resource gathering! This is intentionally designed as the ultimate long-term progression goal. Budget your Dragon Coins wisely!

4️⃣ Module System (6 Slots)

Warbeasts have their own dedicated module system with 6 equipment slots. Unlike APCs (which use a refitting system), warbeast modules are specifically designed for these combat units and cannot be shared with other vehicle types.

⚙️ Module Types

6 Module Types: Weapon • Energy • Armor • Power • Command • Core

Module Levels: Level 1 → Level 6 (each level provides stronger stat bonuses)

How to Get: Modules are obtained from warbeast activities and rewards, then fused to higher levels

🔄 Module Fusion (3 Types)

Fusion TypeSuccess RateResult
Standard Fusion100%Two same-level modules → One module +1 level
Overclocking FusionVariableTwo modules (< Lv. 13) → Result: -6 to +6 levels, or damage
Mutation FusionVariableSingle module → Up to 8 mutations (upgrade/downgrade/bonus module)

Module Proficiency (Levels 0-10):

  • Proficiency reduces crafting time, not stats
  • Level 0 = 0% time reduction • Level 10 = 100% time reduction (instant crafting)
  • Gain proficiency experience through module crafting

5️⃣ Coating System (37+ Coatings)

Warbeast coatings provide both visual customization AND stat bonuses, making them essential for maximizing combat effectiveness!

⚡ How Coating Bonuses Work

Each coating provides two types of bonuses:

  • Owning Attribute: Passive bonus granted just for owning the coating (even if not equipped)
  • Equipping Attribute: Additional active bonus when the coating is equipped on your warbeast

Example: Metallic Dragon | Sandy Coating

Bonus TypeStats Granted
Owning AttributeTAC DEF +1% • HP +1%
Equipping AttributeWPN DEF +1% • TAC DEF +1% • HP +1%
